Back at it again 😎

IMG20180918162428

I am back with another Brunetti review but this time I am focusing on the savory menu and it is just as good as the desserts 😍! I had the Salmon & Camembert toasted sandwich, which costs $11.90, and it was d-e-li-cious! You have the option of either toasting the sandwich or leaving it as it is, so maybe next time I will leave it as it is just to see the difference. This is definitely good if you want to split it with a friend when you are not really hungry but would like something other than desserts or snacks. However, I would advise you to eat it quickly since the bread did get a little bit hard to eat at the end 😅  I paired this meal with a chocolate milkshake for $6.90 and it is a good replacement for the Universal restaurant chocolate milkshake (which I did a review about in the past if you wanna check it out!) if you want a less thick texture.

This is a different location then the previous review on Brunetti because instead of eating at the main area, me and my friend chose to sit in a smaller area that has a glass view of the almost outdoor area! A little bit confusing to write 😵 but! just know that there are different types of feel in each location, which you should definitely try out yourself! Sooo tell me, are there other places with cool or unique atmosphere? let me know in the comments 😁

Gotta love Malaysian food!

IMG20180826202824

I found this small place in South Melbourne and I frequently go there when I want to eat Malaysian food, it is called Penang Road located in South Melbourne. For the meal I ordered the Ipoh Char Hor Fun for $12.90 and it was really good even though it is still not as close to the authentic Malaysian taste because they got the salty level just right! Next is the drink and it is the Iced Teh Tarik for $4 and I don’t recommend getting this because it was kind of diluted 😔 The place can get really loud and crowded due to its small space so I suggest going there at off peak hours or calling the restaurant ahead of time to book some seats if you are going with a large crowd. That is it for this review! Would looove to hear your suggestions for any place that sells good Teh Tarik or any other sweet drinks!

Another Burger…

It has already been established that I enjoy a burger or two, so here is another burger review. AU79 is a cafe in Abbotsford renowned for their coffee. Yesterday I went to get a coffee there (which was AMAZING by the way) and ended up staying for lunch as well. The menu was huge and between the all day Breakfast menu and the Lunch menu, it took me a while to decide but, eventually I settled for the AU79 Burger.

FullSizeRender-1.jpg

The burger came with a bowl of fries and sauce and cost me a total of $20 which I thought was pretty reasonable as you can see the size of the burger and chips. Also the cafe was beautifully done up and was simply lovely just to sit in. Our meals came very quickly and I was happy with the service.

Now to the burger. THIS BURGER WAS AMAZING. You can see the melted cheese on the burger in the photo, now let me tell you it was better in real life!! I never leave anything on my plate but yesterday I has to leave a few chips as I was so full and satisfied from the burger but, the chips too were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I was in a quality food coma afterwards.

I did not regret my choice in ‘accidentally’ having lunch here nor do I regret my choice in eating that burger. I don’t think you would either so head down to AU79 and eat!!!

I am telling you it is worth it!!!

Croissant Burgers?😱

A  group of friends and I decided to have brunch and found a hidden cafe along Hardware Street, Melbourne CBD. The cafe is called White Mojo. When we got there, we had to queue for about 15-20 minutes before we finally got a seat. It was really hard choosing what to eat because everything just looked so so so good! I finally settled on their Signature Croissant Burger and it was AMAZING!  It was a big croissant cut into two with two eggs and a huge piece of fried soft shell crab in the middle. The combo was so so good.😻 I paired it with a Iced Matcha Latte and was in awe. The cafe has seasonal menus, however I do believe the croissant burger is always going to be served as it is their signature. The Croissant Burger cost $25 whereas the Matcha Latte cost $7. It is definitely pricey, however with the size of the portion, ambience as well as the taste, I would highly recommend trying it at least once!

IMG_3419.JPG

The cafe also serves…*wait for it*…BLACK LATTE! ( right side of the picture).  One of my friend ordered it and said it tasted amazing.  It was not as pitch black as we expected it to be but it was still amazing to look at. It is a combination of soy milk, black sesame and nuts. It cost $7 as well and I think I would try it the next time I go there. Let me know down in the comments if there’s any other hidden cafes I should try!

Why do Hamburgers go to the gym? … to get better buns

Burgetory had been constantly popping up on my social media and I finally gave in. I made it over to Kew to find the little burger joint that I had seen so much of. The Burger that I had seen so much of was a double patty burger wrapped in a black brioche bun. I knew that was what I had to order before I even got there! My friend got the so called ‘Pride Burger’ which is everything you’d expect in a burger but I went next level and got the ‘Wrath Burger’.

FullSizeRender-2.jpg

This burger comes with 2 beef patties, 2 different types of cheese, two rashes of bacon as well as homemade wicked sauce yet, somehow they have still managed to cram a bit of salad in there. On the menu there is a little chilli symbol next to the Wrath burger which was necessary. The wicked sauce was spicy but I am a fan of spice. The burger alone cost me $15.90 but as you can see, it was well big enough to eat by itself and feel full. Its not something I would eat or afford often but it is a nice treat.

The burger was yum but it was a lot and I struggled to finish it. If you don’t like spice this burger is not for you otherwise, I would recommend this burger any day but not everyday, diabetes would occur quickly haha. Anyway there are lots of different choices of burgers and I’m sure you would find one to enjoy at Burgertory! Go give it a try and tell me how you go.

Burgers Joints are becoming more popular here in Melbourne, apart from McDonalds do you guys know of any that I should give  go?

I’m on a Seafood diet, I see food and I eat it

FullSizeRender.jpg

Living near the ocean for majority of my childhood, Seafood is a regular on the dinner table although, I never ever complained. I love Seafood, well what food don’t I like? Sometimes I just crave seafood so the other day whilst I was out and around Southbank I saw Ludlow Bar & Dining Room and the smell simply drew me in.

Looking at the menu I remembered why I eat so little Seafood. MONEY!! Seafood is expensive!! Anyway after much thought I decided to get the entree Salt and Pepper Calamari with a side of Rustic cut Chips. This alone set me back $32 but I wasn’t complaining much after I was eating it.

The calamari was clearly fresh and the batter was so crispy when I ate it. For $22 this entree was a lot larger than I assumed which made the money seem much more worth it. The chips however did cost me $10 and you can see in the photo here that it was only a small bowl although, the rustic cut and the seasoning that came with it was a perfect addition to my Calamari and I was full after the two meals.

Apart from the price, Ludlow was amazing. Good location, good service and most importantly, good food. Will definitely make a return when I have a little more cash on hand.

Can any of my Melbourne friends help me out here!

Where can I get cheap seafood??

Brunch in Northcote, how cliché

Northcote is renowned as a stylish, funky place for Brunch goers in Melbourne. I thought I better go and check it out on the most popular day, Sunday! I didn’t really know where I was going to eat as I just got off the train in Northcote and wandered up the street until I found something that interested me. It did not take long until I came across a busy cool looking cafe, Tinker Northcote.

As soon as I walked in I saw someone eating the Acai bowl and knew immediately what I was going to order.

IMG_5080.JPG

This Acai bowl was only $16 and had the freshest fruit in it! The yogurt was also really refreshing and tasty. Nothing in the bowl seemed out of place and everything came together so deliciously. I usually don’t order healthy things when I go out eating although this looked absolutely amazing and it tasted close to amazing also. Tinker was extremely busy although my Acai bowl came quickly. Looking around I could have ordered another five meals because they all simply looked beautiful.

Just sitting there and watching all the other meals come out makes me already want to go again because the meals were all displayed so beautifully and for me that is tempting enough.

If you are looking to take photo’s of lovely looking meals and tingle your tastebuds along the way, Tinker Northcote is for you!

Next time I go to Northcote I will be tempted to return here but do you guys recommend any other cafes in Norhtcote?

Rococo’s homemade pasta!!

img_5079-e1537843897485.jpg

Can you really beat fettuccine carbonara?

Carbonara is by far my most favourite meal and everytiime I eat it I feel complete inside and out. Does anyone else feel this way about their favourite food?
Every time I go to an Italian restaurant I only ever get carbonara and yesterday at Rococos there was nothing different. The carbonara was $25.50 and the restaurant had a amazing service and quality. The winner of the dish was for sure the homemade pasta, it was so beautiful and creamy and even though I was extremely full I ate even single bite. All of there pasta is homemade!
Rococo has a few different locations in Melbourne however I went to the Acland Street location in St Kilda as I knew a few friends who had been there before and they absolutely loved it. Also St Kilda is a beautiful location for any restaurant, it just really has a cool vibe to it.
I have never had a bad carbonara in an Italian restaurant in Melbourne and this was no exception. I’m already craving it again just writing about it. At $25.50 it defiantly isn’t the cheapest carbonara I have eaten but the quality of the dish (especially the pasta) was well worth the price tag!
Please recommend Italian restaurants for me to try in the comments! As I said I loveeeeeee Italian!!

CHICKEN!!

FullSizeRender.jpg

The Footscray Motor Inn is a small Hotel in Footscray that serves meals to their guests. As one of my friends was staying there the other night we decided to stop in the restaurant.

The item that stood out on the menu was Chicken on a bed of risotto with a side of chips. Three of my favourite things to tell you the truth. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the skin was nice and crispy.

I was practically full after the chicken and risotto but the chips had this beautiful seasoning on it that was almost like a garlic, chicken seasoning but it was AMAZING! I had to finish it all heheh.

Everyone in the restaurant seemed extremely pleased with their meals and there were lots of options too! I would defiantly go back to the Footscray Motor Inn and apparently the menu changes nightly so there would be no shortage of choices. Definitely, definitely recommend!!!!!

Macaroons!

IMG_3348
Milo & Belgian Chocolate

As promised before, this post is going to be on desserts in South Melbourne Market! Obviously, it’s a given that the dessert I am going to talk about is macaroons😝. After stuffing our faces with oysters, we decided to walk around the market. I found a little deli called Emerald and they had all kind of desserts, brownies, lemon slices, macaroons, rocky road and more! I decided to get a couple of macaroons to go. The macaroons were hugeeee and the picture honestly doesn’t do justice as to how big they were. They cost $3 each which is quite cheap considering the size. As for the taste, the milo one honestly tasted nothing like milo and I did not enjoy it at all, however, the Belgian Chocolate was to die for!😍 It wasn’t too sweet, it was perfect. I would definitely get more when I go back. Let me know down in the comment if there’s any other desserts I should try out! Till next time, foodies!
