Why do Hamburgers go to the gym? … to get better buns

Burgetory had been constantly popping up on my social media and I finally gave in. I made it over to Kew to find the little burger joint that I had seen so much of. The Burger that I had seen so much of was a double patty burger wrapped in a black brioche bun. I knew that was what I had to order before I even got there! My friend got the so called ‘Pride Burger’ which is everything you’d expect in a burger but I went next level and got the ‘Wrath Burger’.

FullSizeRender-2.jpg

This burger comes with 2 beef patties, 2 different types of cheese, two rashes of bacon as well as homemade wicked sauce yet, somehow they have still managed to cram a bit of salad in there. On the menu there is a little chilli symbol next to the Wrath burger which was necessary. The wicked sauce was spicy but I am a fan of spice. The burger alone cost me $15.90 but as you can see, it was well big enough to eat by itself and feel full. Its not something I would eat or afford often but it is a nice treat.

The burger was yum but it was a lot and I struggled to finish it. If you don’t like spice this burger is not for you otherwise, I would recommend this burger any day but not everyday, diabetes would occur quickly haha. Anyway there are lots of different choices of burgers and I’m sure you would find one to enjoy at Burgertory! Go give it a try and tell me how you go.

Burgers Joints are becoming more popular here in Melbourne, apart from McDonalds do you guys know of any that I should give  go?

Macaroons!

Milo & Belgian Chocolate

As promised before, this post is going to be on desserts in South Melbourne Market! Obviously, it’s a given that the dessert I am going to talk about is macaroons😝. After stuffing our faces with oysters, we decided to walk around the market. I found a little deli called Emerald and they had all kind of desserts, brownies, lemon slices, macaroons, rocky road and more! I decided to get a couple of macaroons to go. The macaroons were hugeeee and the picture honestly doesn’t do justice as to how big they were. They cost $3 each which is quite cheap considering the size. As for the taste, the milo one honestly tasted nothing like milo and I did not enjoy it at all, however, the Belgian Chocolate was to die for!😍 It wasn’t too sweet, it was perfect. I would definitely get more when I go back. Let me know down in the comment if there’s any other desserts I should try out! Till next time, foodies!

South Melbourne Market!

Hi everyone! Over the weekend, a group of friends and I went over to South Melbourne Market to try out some oysters and sea urchin. It was my first time there and I was shocked by the crowd! There was people queuing up in almost every single food stall. We decided to have some hot food before having oysters so I decided to try out a chicken burrito. The burrito was really good but quite messy to eat, I ended up getting it all over me😫. It cost $12 dollars and you can choose between chicken and pork.

After the burrito, we went over to the oyster bar! The oysters and sea urchin looked so fresh!😍 The store served their oysters in trays but you can also get them in singles if you’re not sharing. The oysters cost $1.67 each and I definitely think it was worth the price. I could only eat 3 as I was so full from the burrito. The stall also provided lemon slices, soy sauce and other kind of sauces at their tables for patrons that plan on eating their oysters there! I also tried a little bit of sea urchin for the first time which I quite liked but I am not sure if I love it. The texture was different but it worked with the soy sauce. One of my friend did not like it though so I am guessing it is one of those things where you either hate it or love it?😂 The sea urchin cost $8 each. I would suggest trying it out if you have not already.

Let me know if you guys have tried the oysters and sea urchins before and if you haven’t, would you? The next post is going to be on desserts that you can find at South Melbourne Market! So if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, stay tuned!😚

Cheese balls and the best thai milk tea 😎

IMG20180828162145.jpg

Usually when I am in the city,  I would pass by a small store called Hot-Star and they sell hot cheese balls for $4.9! I got told three times that they sold out and finally on the fourth try, I got it! It has a crunchy exterior with gooey cheese inside so I do recommend you try it if you haven’t before! however, if you already tried cheese balls then I won’t suggest this one cause its not something I would want to buy again just cause it didn’t really taste special..? Although I’m still going to go back to the store because they have a famous large fried chicken and it looks like a great snack or a meal. Let me know if you had tried this and whether it is da bomb or not!

BUT for the next item, I recommend that you drink it even if you had other thai milk teas before because this is my go to, my pick me up and the thing that helps me live! It is from Share Tea and it costs around $5. I always get it with normal black pearls but my friends say that the mini pearls are nice to chew on too! I hope this will get you to want to try Sharetea and if not then tell me which milk tea has stolen your heart ❤

Best chocolate milkshake ever?

IMG20180825204811

Soooo this milkshake here is always in my mind when i want something sweet because it is so rich in flavor that you can tell that they don’t just use some cheap chocolate syrup yuk 😖! But real chocolate and even with some of the chocolate shavings on the top! This heavenly chocolate milkshake is located in Universal Restaurant in Lygon St, Carlton and it only costs $6, worth it for its size and taste 😍! But that’s not all to this restaurant because it also has HUMONGOUS food portions 😲!!

img20180825204631.jpg

Alright…it may not look big in the picture BUT I promise you this carbonara spaghetti with bacon bits can feed two hungry peeps, since it was more than enough for me and my friend. And its not just the spaghetti that is fit for two but also most of the menu like the popular chicken parma. So I really recommend this place if you like sharing food with your friends, however be sure to arrive early or go on a non-holiday date because the line is long and may take around 10-15 minutes just to take a sit 😲

Let me know if you went to Universal and tried their awesome milkshake and food or if you plan on going! And do tell me if there are any other great milkshakes I can try 😁

ps. I really recommend that you share the food and the chocolate milkshake together to avoid the overstuffed feeling we had after that dinner 🤣🤣

Lobster Time!

IMG_3253 2.jpg

Since winter is coming to an end, I thought I’d do a throwback post. I bet many of you have heard or been to Queen Victoria Market. For those of you who have not and are planning to visit Melbourne in the next winter, this post is definitely for you! Every winter, Queen Victoria Market holds a Winter Night Market event that runs from June 6th till August 29th. The night market has stalls that sell good food, booze, jewellery, art and much more! There is even live music. A couple of weeks ago, I tried the lobster roll and fell in love!! It was so amazingly good. The store is called George the Fish Monger and they sell crab rolls, lobster rolls and more. The lobster roll cost $20 each. It is definitely on the pricey end however, the taste is amazing which makes it worth it I believe. The queue is often long so I would highly suggest you plan your time accordingly. Let me know if you have been to the winter night market and what did you have while you were there!

Watermelon Sorbet

Hi everyone! Today’s post is on…*drumrolls* ice cream! One of the best places in Melbourne for ice-cream has got to be Pidapipó. Pidapipó is known for its’ artisanal gelato and unique flavors. They have stores in 3 locations across VIC; Carlton, Melbourne CBD and Windsor. I have been to the Carlton and CBD location. Both places have really limited seats but there is plenty of space to stand around outside the stores and enjoy your ice cream. The one thing I really love about Pidapipó besides their ice cream, is that they get creative and change some of their flavors when the seasons change.  They have fruit based and milk-based ice creams. Some of the flavors I have tried includes banana milk, salted caramel, nutella swirl and even watermelon! The prices differ according to the number of scoops. 1 scoop cost $4.50, 2 scoops cost $6.50 and 3 scoops cost $7.50. You can choose between a cup and a cone too! And for all of you that can’t get enough of Pidapidó (me especially) …..guess what? They even have take-away tubs! The stores close around 11pm which makes it a great place to go for desserts after dinner. Let me know down in the comments below what flavors you would recommend for me to try the next time I go! Till next time, fellow foodies!

Best and ONLY Authentic Pan Mee in Melbourne?😱

Pan Mee!

Hi everyone! I was craving Malaysian food over the weekend and decided to try out a new Malaysian restaurant that opened up in A’Beckett Street, Melbourne. The restaurant is a little different from other Malaysian restaurants as they only serve soups and pan mee which literally translates to flour noodle (Malaysian Chinese Cuisine). The restaurant is called Jojo Little Kitchen and just like its name, it was a small place. Don’t be fooled by the name though, the queue at the restaurant was long and it took half an hour before we got to sit. I ordered their dry traditional pan mee and was in love! It cost $12.90 and was a fairly big portion. The service and ambience of the place is great. The only downfall would be that waiting time was required due to the size of the restaurant, but I would definitely go back! Comment below if you have tried Jojo Little Kitchen and let me know what you think of the place. Till next time guys!
