A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands..🍫

My usual go-to dessert place is Max Brenner as it barely 10 minutes away from where I live. I used to only have the Tutti-Frutti Waffle until I discovered their Banana Split Waffle Sundae and now it is the only thing I ever get when I go there! 😍 Their Tutti-Frutti Waffle cost $15 for a single and $20 for a double. The waffle(s) comes with fruits, melted chocolate and a big scoop of ice cream. The banana spilt waffle sundae comes with bananas ( obviously😝 ) , ice cream, melted chocolate, waffle pieces, chocolate nuts and a caramel sauce! It cost $15 and I find it worth it because I feel so full afterwards and even skip a meal before I have it just so I can finish the dessert if I am having it on my own.

Both desserts are great for sharing if you’re just looking to have a dessert after a big meal. The ambience of the place is great and I believe they are located in many places including CBD but my go to place for Max Brenner is Highpoint.

Have you guys tried Max Brenner? If you have, what did you try? Let me know down below!

Brunetti….again?😬

This is probably my 3rd post on Brunetti’s ( I have a sweet tooth, don’t judge😝) so I am going to make this post short and sweeeet ( see what I did there?😝). There’s so much to have and try at Brunetti’s that I can’t resist going back. This time I tried their gelato and my god, it was amazing!! I got two scoops for $6 which is a pretty fair price I feel. I tried the salted caramel and the matcha flavour. Both were really good but I loved the matcha one more and was a little bummed that the scoops were uneven (you can even see it in the picture). I got a cup full of salted caramel and just a small scoop of matcha on the top. The next time I go there I would probably get it in a cone instead of a cup and see if there is a difference.

Do you guys know any great places for gelato in Melbourne? If you do, please let me know!

Macaroons!

Milo & Belgian Chocolate

As promised before, this post is going to be on desserts in South Melbourne Market! Obviously, it’s a given that the dessert I am going to talk about is macaroons😝. After stuffing our faces with oysters, we decided to walk around the market. I found a little deli called Emerald and they had all kind of desserts, brownies, lemon slices, macaroons, rocky road and more! I decided to get a couple of macaroons to go. The macaroons were hugeeee and the picture honestly doesn’t do justice as to how big they were. They cost $3 each which is quite cheap considering the size. As for the taste, the milo one honestly tasted nothing like milo and I did not enjoy it at all, however, the Belgian Chocolate was to die for!😍 It wasn’t too sweet, it was perfect. I would definitely get more when I go back. Let me know down in the comment if there’s any other desserts I should try out! Till next time, foodies!

Brown sugar bubble tea?😻

IMG_3309

Hi everyone! Hope you guys had a great weekend. So yesterday I had an intense craving for bubble tea and decide to try something different than my usual thai milk tea from ShareTea (refer to previous post). I went over to Highpoint Shopping Centre and came across a little stall called the TheAlley LuJiaoXing. They are a little different from your average bubble tea store, this place has tapioca pearls soaked in brown sugar!!😍 I tried one of their recommended drinks which was Brown Sugar Deerioca and Fresh Milk. What drew me to get the drink was the gorgeous gradient effect. 😍 The thick brown sugar and pearls at the bottom of the cup with the fresh milk, the drink looked too good to consume! The regular size cost $6.60.

Although the drink looked so gorgeous and the pearls tasted amazing, I did not enjoy the drink that much. It was a little too bland for me and the fact that you can’t adjust the sugar did not help. ☹️ The recommended way of drinking it is without stirring it or stirring it 9 times. Stirring it definitely helps a little but still tasted quite bland. I would definitely go back again but maybe try a different flavour. Let me know if you guys have tried the place and what I should try the next time I go there!

Tea Time in between stress

IMG20180904160059.jpg

The opposite of stressed is desserts and Brunetti is a great to do just that! It has a variety of cakes and pastries to choose from that you can always come back to try different types and don’t worry about blowing your money away because these treats are only around $3-8! In this picture, my friend and I had a strawberry cream eclair, a chocolate swiss roll and a cream filled pastry. I definitely recommend the eclair because it is light and sweet and the roll but it is a bit thick so a drink is definitely needed. Maybe not the pastry because it was hard as rock, thought it would be puffy, and the cream had a weird taste to it… I paired these off with an English breakfast tea that can come with milk and it was delicious with the desserts and helps clean the palette to fully appreciate each dish 😋.

Let me know if there’s any desserts from Brunetti that I must try or another dessert place I can go to! the more desserts I can get my hands on the better!

Watermelon Sorbet

Hi everyone! Today’s post is on…*drumrolls* ice cream! One of the best places in Melbourne for ice-cream has got to be Pidapipó. Pidapipó is known for its’ artisanal gelato and unique flavors. They have stores in 3 locations across VIC; Carlton, Melbourne CBD and Windsor. I have been to the Carlton and CBD location. Both places have really limited seats but there is plenty of space to stand around outside the stores and enjoy your ice cream. The one thing I really love about Pidapipó besides their ice cream, is that they get creative and change some of their flavors when the seasons change.  They have fruit based and milk-based ice creams. Some of the flavors I have tried includes banana milk, salted caramel, nutella swirl and even watermelon! The prices differ according to the number of scoops. 1 scoop cost $4.50, 2 scoops cost $6.50 and 3 scoops cost $7.50. You can choose between a cup and a cone too! And for all of you that can’t get enough of Pidapidó (me especially) …..guess what? They even have take-away tubs! The stores close around 11pm which makes it a great place to go for desserts after dinner. Let me know down in the comments below what flavors you would recommend for me to try the next time I go! Till next time, fellow foodies!
